Judy Boyd was born in Hamilton and grew up in St. Catharines, Ontario. After graduating her college, she moved to Manitoulin after marrying the love of her life. She had always had an interest in drawing all through her teenage years but never started to paint until she joined Ivan Wheale's classes where she learned oils and eventually watercolour. She enjoys a variety of subjects and prefers watercolour and the challenges that come with it.
